RPC-Blog: News from the dtp convention Ninja
2009/04/03

Oh wow.

I am sat in the eye of the storm. Every time I come to an RPG convention I remember the passion, the experience, and the awesome spectacle of being among good folks that love their hobby. Bon Jovi tunes blare out across the show floor , crowds of RPGers march around the show looking for bargains, and my bank manager cries a tear each time I take a wander around the retail area. Its mid day and already I am down to my last few notes, which are supposed to last me all weekend. Gladly I give up my food money/bus fare/shoes for books and cards. Jon Bon Jovi appropriate sings “We gotta hold on…to what we got…..” and I feel guilty. But only for a second…I have just seen an amazing Tshirt stand, and its my duty to investigate…

Nothing on earth is like this, and I am proud to be here in Cologne, Germany!

Today is Friday 3rd, and the first day of the show. We had a busy evening setting up the Divinity area, arranging posters and goodies for fans when they arrive. The ever busy marketing team has created a cool Divinity style quest for show visitors to take part in, to receive a nice hardback Divinity II notebook.

Already we are hoping we have enough!

Crowds have formed around the new Divinity video we are showing, and a surprising amount of gamers are already on the special quest. We are right at one of the main doors, so we sometimes are told off by security for having a crowd :)

Already I have seen many beautiful elven maidens, eight terrifying orc warriors, one Skeletor, two ghostbusters (both Venkman I think), zero tron guys, and a stunning vampire sorceress. I will check in each day with an update of how things are going, hope to see you at the show!

New Divinity II coverage in Germany
2009/01/30

For our German fans - the cover of the latest issue of PC Games is dedicated to Divinity II: Ego Draconis and in the magazine you'll find six pages of Divinity II news including several new screenshots. The journalist writes about a three hour walkthrough through the game and talks about what his impressions of the game were.

To translate his conclusion into English: "What Larian Studios showed us was interesting, diversified and surprisingly stable and smooth. The few smaller issues which are left are surely solved if the Belgian developer uses the following months for balancing and optimization."

If you can't find PC Games, the latest issue of PC Action also contains a 3 page story on Divinity II.

First Award for Divinity II
2009/01/12

Editors Choice: Most promising RPG 2009Divinity II: Ego Draconis captures the Editor's Choice for Game of the Year Award 2008 at RpgWatch, this is a must have in 2009.
Divine Divinity is a unique game, combining the addictive traits of a hack'slash action/RPG with the open world, interaction and quests of Ultima along with a sense of humour and quirky style ? if you've read our recent retrospective, you'll know how much we enjoyed Divine Divinity. Divinity II looks to expand on this base with more choices, more consequences and some risky features ? if they can integrate mind-reading and flying around as a dragon into the game beyond mere gimmickery, the potential is fascinating.
